The red Mahogany Parquet floor at Abbey Grange was extremely worn and scratched from years of heavy use that you would expect from a high school environment.
Heavy sanding was required starting on a 16 grit paper and finishing on a 120 grit paper, gaps were filled and replacement blocks were added where necessary. The floor was primed and then sealed with 2 coats of high gloss moisture cured polyurethane, to combat the extensive use the floor would receive.
Great satisfaction was taken from transforming this beautiful old worn out floor, back to its former glory.
This Maple Parquet block floor was very uneven; it required major sanding starting from a rough 24 grit paper and finishing on a 120 grit paper. Starting from such a rough paper also enabled us to get some pretty severe stiletto heel marks and gouges out of the wood. Once sanded the floor was primed then sealed with 2 coats of water based Gloss finish lacquer.
