Major refurbishment work was carried out at the New Wheatsheaf in Castleford, formally known as The Wilton Ballroom.
Using different grades of sanding belts we sanded the floor to remove all traces of old seal and polish and also levelled the floor in the process. The outside of the dance area was sanded with edging sanders until the correct finish was obtained. A coat of primer seal was applied followed by two flood coats of Polyurethane gloss finish sealant.
We successfully transformed this rundown floor into the beautiful new dance area this well known venue demands.
The Rising Sun, Palm Court restaurant was a particularly challenging floor to restore. The boards were very badly rafted well worn and needed repair work in places, a lot of sanding was required to level the boards, and we used new state of the art Kunzle & Tasin belt sanders for this.
The floor had to be a pail white, so we changed the appearance of the antique pine floor boards by applying a stain until the owner was happy with the colour, 3 coats of water based lacquer were then applied, this customer chose the Satin Sheen which gave a stunning new look to the floor.
